Development of Key Performance Indicators for Social Enterprise in Thailand

Abstract


This research aimed 1) to construct and develop key performance indicators for social enterprise in Thailand, and 2) to test congruence of the developed model of relationship, structure, and indicators for Social Enterprise in Thailand with the empirical data. The sample consisted of 850 subjects: who are the founders, executives, academics and social entrepreneurs that are the members of the Social Enterprise Network Thailand. The variables were used in the research were latent variables and observed variables. The reliability coefficient of questionnaire was 0.985. The statistics were mean, standard deviation, CMIN-P, CMIN/df, GFI, RMSEA and Factor Loading. Data were analyzed by using SPSS and AMOS software programs. The research was conducted in 2 phases: Phase 1 was constructing conceptual framework and drafting indicators for academic leadership behaviors and Phase 3 was testing congruence of the model of relationships, structure, and indicators for Social Enterprise in Thailand with the empirical data. The research results were as follows: 1) Results of the study revealed the following 12 major factors and 84 indicators of social enterprise in Thailand : (1) Establishment/Organization with 7 indicators; (2) Organizational Culture with 7 indicators; (3) Strategic Planning with 7 indicators; (4) Raising Funds with 9 indicators; (5) Beneficiaries with 7 indicators; (6) Social Contribution with 7 indicators (7) Social Cooperation with 10 indicators (8) Human Resource Management with 9 indicators (9) Financial Management with 5 indicators (10) Organizational leaders with 6 indicators (11) Executive committee with 5 indicators (12) Marketing and communication with 5 indicators. 2)Testing the congruence of the model of the relationship, structure, and indicators for Social Enterprise in Thailand revealed that the model was in congruence with the empirical data: CMIN-P = 0.12, CMIN/df = 1.469, GFI =0.996, RMSEA =0.023, and there are Factor loading of each major factors between 0.72 – 0.86 at the .05 level of significance
