The Development of Management Model of Academic Services for Industry of Science and Technology Autonomous Universities

Abstract


The aims of this research were: 1) to analyze factors that affaffected the efficiency of the management of academic services for industry 2) to study success of management factors of the academic services for industry of science and technology autonomous University 3) to develop management model of academic services and 4) to evaluate the model of academic services for industry of science and technology autonomous universities. The population and participants were 164 persons administrators who are in charge of academic services from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and Suranaree University of Technology. The tools used in this research were interviews and questionnaires from 128 set of data, which were statistically analyzed data were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression. The results showed that the administrators in academic services had managing behavior that were related to 5 main factors which are planning, organizing, commanding, coordinating and controlling. The overall mean score of the behavior were in high level. For revenue, every mean score were also in high level. The results of development of management model of academic services for industry of science and technology autonomous universities revealed that the model contains five main factors which contain 12 minor factors that affect the efficiency of academic services management which were (1)policy, vision and mission, (2)strategies and action plan, (3)one stop services (4)regulations, (5)budget management, (6)administrators’ vision (7)teamwork, (8)management information system, (9)international qualification management, (10)quality assurance in education, (11)professional staff and (12)monitoring and evaluation. The results showed that the model was 92.87% suitable and 88.57% applicable for academic services for industry of science and technology autonomous universities.
