Factors Affecting the Performance of the Air Traffic Controllers of Royal Thai Navy

Abstract


The purposes of the research were to determine: 1) the factors affecting the operational satisfaction of the air traffic controllers of Royal Thai Navy, and 2) the methods for developing the performance of the air traffic controllers of Royal Thai Navy. The research methodology is to study the factors affecting operational satisfaction of the air traffic controllers of Royal Thai Navy by using the 14 factors operational standard of Frederick Herzberg. The questionnaires were collected from 110 populations. Data can be used for analysis of 100 cases. Those populations are the air traffic controllers of Royal Thai Navy at U-Tapao International Airport (Rayong), Songkhla Airport (Songkhla), Ban Torn Airport (Narathiwat), Chantaburi Airport (Chantaburi) and H.T.M.S Chakrinaruebet. The obtained data are analyzed in terms of frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Chi-Square by using statistical analyzing package for social science program. The research found that the factors affecting the operational satisfaction of the air traffic controllers of Royal Thai Navy are achievement and work itself which indicate the strength of the unit. The commanders should pay attention and develop such factors continuously. The other factors are less satisfies the operational satisfaction (moderate level) of the air traffic controllers of Royal Thai Navy. The commanders should pay close attention and try to accelerate the development of such factors in order for the air traffic controllers of Royal Thai Navy to be more satisfied with their operations.
