Development of Activity Teachers Training Curriculum by Using Activity Camping Process to Enhance Life Skills for Vocational College Student

Abstract


This research aimed to develop and to find the efficiency and effectiveness of activity teachers training curriculum by using activity camping process to enhance life skills for vocational college students. The researcher had studied information, situation problems and necessity from populations and target group which were administrators and activity teachers from 109 colleges, 20 provinces under the Office of Vocational Education Commission in the Northeastern region., The research approaches were sharing information in the focus group discussion to decide proper life skills topic determining activity for the camping process, and creating a training curriculum and an activity teachers training manual, to try out with 30 activity teachers in Maha Sarakham Vocational and Technical Education Colleges Beside, the curriculum (the revision) was implemented with 16 activity teachers in Maha Sarakham Vocational and Technical Education College. The results of this research revealed that the training curriculum of 5-H life skills activity camping process (Head, Hand, Heal, Heart and Happiness) used to train activity teachers during 3 days and 2 nights outside the college which emphasizing on a group dynamic activity and participatory learning, revealed that the efficiency and the effectiveness according to the research questions. The appropriateness evaluate 5-H life skills of process 5-H life skills and activity 5-H life skills by focus group discussion had an opinion score at the highest level. The training curriculum appropriateness evaluation by experts had an opinion score at the highest level. The efficiency of activity teachers’ theoretical learning achievement were 87.92 / 83.33 and the efficiency of activity teachers’ practical achievement were 87.25 which were higher than the specified criterion. The effectiveness index of the training curriculum had rate of 0.5122. The results of life skills enhancement of vocational college students by self-evaluation revealed the opinion score at a high level. and also the peer evaluation revealed the opinion score at a high level. while the trainer evaluation had the opinion score at the highest level.
