The Development and Evaluation of University-Industry Collaboration Management Model for Faculty of Industrial Technology at Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University

Abstract


The objectives of this research were to develop and evaluate the university-industry collaboration management model of Faculty of Industrial Technology at Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University. This research conducted in the mixed method. The samplings were separated three groups. The first group were seven experts dealer manager, technical manager at Nissan Surat PIYA Nakhon Si Thammarat, and training instructors and technicians at Training and Development Division of Nissan Motor (Thailand), who selected by snowball sampling technique. The second group were five administrators at Faculty of Industrial Technology at Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, and training managers at Training and Development Division of Nissan Motor (Thailand), who selected by purposive sampling method. The third group were 19 academic lecturers at Faculty of Industrial Technology at Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, and automotive mechanics teachers of Vocational Education Institutions in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, who selected by purposive sampling method. The research instruments were in-depth interview form, the evaluation forms for appropriateness model, and focus-group discussion form. The quantitative data was analysed by mean and standard deviation. The qualitative data was analysed by content analysis. The research results found that the university-industry collaboration management model of Faculty of Industrial Technology at Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University were 4 categories: 1) Formulation; 2) Planning and development collaboration; 3) Mobilizing for the collaboration; and 4) Participatory collaboration management. As whole as, the evaluation of the university-industry collaboration management model of Faculty of Industrial Technology at Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University was at high level.
