Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the mechanism and systems of knowledge management in the electricity generation process, and to develop a model of knowledge management in the electricity generation process. This study used a qualitative research, and in-depth interviews of 25 persons who involves in the knowledge management and secondary data collection of the mae moh power plant are used as a case study. Research tool used by in-depth structured interviews, and the focus group. The analysis of data used the method classify content as well as secondary research related to knowledge management in the mae moh power plant. The results showed that knowledge management in the mae moh power plant is the only form and led to the development of a new one called Diamond KM model, which consists of three main parts: 1) Learning by practice order to skill and experience training of personnel and to emphasis of the importance average which is as much as 70 percent. 2) Learning by sharing called the exchange of learning pass market knowledge or the exchange platform learning, after the operation is complete, the experience and the success based on the worked involved in the exchange of learning, and to emphasis of the importance average 20 percent. 3) Learning by transfer knowledge and training, seminars and to emphasis of the importance average 10 percent. The knowledge gained from the knowledge management process are stored in the knowledgebase called Mae Moh's wisdom or "KM Corner". That classification of technical knowledge in electricity generation process, in B.E. 2008-2011 there were 2,853 issues is the result of knowledge, and extension based on knowledge to improve the standard of work, by providing an operations manual-work instruction : WI. Most of the knowledge used to operators is core knowledge of the mae moh power plant.
