The Study of the Guidelines for Integrated Approach to Ethics Teaching Based on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy for General Education Courses of Suan Dusit Rajabhat University

Abstract


The objectives of this research were: 1) to study lecturers’ opinions of the guidelines for integrated approach to ethics teaching based on sufficiency economy philosophy for general education courses of Suan Dusit Rajabhat University and 2) to guidelines for integrating the sufficiency economy philosophy into ethics teaching in general education courses of Suan Dusit Rajabhat University. The sample consisted of 1) 156 general education lecturers of Suan Dusit Rajabhat University in the academic of 2013, 2) 7 specialist for indepth interview, and 3) 7 specialist for focus group. The research instruments were: 1) the lecturer’s Suan Dusit Rajabhat University opinion questionnaire of integrated approach to ethics teaching based on sufficiency economy philosophy for general education courses of Suan Dusit Rajabhat University 2) the in-depth interview form about the development of instruction to integrate ethics into general education. Data were analyzed by using mean, standard deviation and content analysis. The results of the study were as follows: 1) overall, the lecturers’ opinions expressed their satisfaction with approach to integrate ethics into general education teaching by following sufficiency economy philosophy at the high level. 2) an approach to integrate ethics into general education teaching by following sufficiency economy philosophy included 10 steps as followed: preliminary and orientation, advanced knowledge of course content to integrate into following sufficiency economy philosophy, the activities provide knowledge continuously, the gathering of information and knowledge involved, the distributions will prepare project and drafting projects, implementation project servicing integrity by following sufficiency economy philosophy, reviewing knowledge and application of knowledge, summarizing the evaluation project and report writing, the project presentations and critiques and the conclusion of the action.
