Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to compare scientific problem solving ability of Mathayom Suksa III students learning under the inquiry learning management with that of students learning under the problem based learning management; 2) to compare scientific mind of Mattayom Suksa III students learning under the inquiry learning management with that of students learning under the problem based learning management .The research sample consisted of 81 Mathayom Suksa III in two intact classrooms at Matthayom Wat Bueng Thong Lang School in the first semester of the 2018 academic year, obtained by cluster random sampling and one classroom had been randomly assigned to learn under inquiry learning management while classroom learning under problem based learning management.  The research instruments used in this study were inquiry learning management plans, problem based learning management plans, scientific problem solving test and scientific mind inventory.  Data were analyzed using the mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The research findings revealed that 1) the scientific problem solving ability of the students learning under problem based learning management were significantly higher than those learning under inquiry learning management at the .05 level; and 2) the scientific mind of the students learning under problem based learning management were significantly higher than those learning under inquiry learning management at the .05 level.
