The path of the revaluation of bio-based fibers and polymeric materials goes through the improvement of its production sectors, the continuous deepening of scientific knowledge in this area, new marketing strategies and indelibly, the generation of products based on bio-based fibers and polymers. EFPM aims to bring researchers from both academia and industry in and around the globe to exchange new ideas, share knowledge and explore recent developments in the area of eco-friendly fibers and polymeric materials. The conference includes keynote and invited lectures by an array of eminent speakers from reputed international organizations and institutions. The conference endeavours to encourage exchange of innovative ideas and facilitate future academic collaborations.

We, the organizers are pleased to announce the International Symposium on Lightweight and Sustainable Polymeric Materials (LSPM’23) is going to be held in Bangkok, Thailand on 17th February 2023. This symposium will bring together experts in the fields of polymer chemistry, physics, and materials science from both academia and industry to share and discuss the latest findings from their research into cutting-edge and environmentally friendly polymers. At the end of the symposia, attendees will gain fresh insights and a broader perspective with which to forge stronger ties between academia and the industrial world. There will be keynote addresses, plenary discussions, and oral presentations at LSPM'23. The format and scheduling of the event will provide for ample time to meet and interact with peers from all around the world. We are honored to invite you to attend the 2022 Research, Invention, and Innovation Congress (RI2C 2022) that will be held on 4 - 5 August 2022 via the virtual conference, organised by King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB).

Our last RI2C conferences were held in Bangkok in 2019 (Arnoma Grand Hotel Bangkok) and 2021 (Virtual). The RI2C 2022 virtual conference will continue to hold and exchange academic activities with high standards.

The RI2C 2022 offers opportunity for peer-researchers for submission and presentation of research works in three main categories, including i) Innovative Materials Engineering (iME), ii) Innovative Electricals and Electronics (iEE), and iii) Innovative Sustainable Sciences (iSS).

It is announced in SJR website on 19 May 2021 that ASEP is indexed in Q3 with SJR score of 0.173 and cites/doc (2 yr average) of 1.889 (https://www.scimagojr.com/journalsearch.php?q=21100939572&tip=sid&clean=0) in 2020. Our journal publishes open access articles with free of charge and has turnaround time for reviewing process less than 1 month/round. During Jan-May 2021, we published 23 high quality articles from 156 submissions (rejection rate at 85%). With this progress, ASEP aims to maintain high standard of peer-review process to make sure the integrity and reliability of publishing. Lastly, we hope our readers, reviewers and authors keep support our journal to become the frontier journal in the future.

ASEP has been included in SCOPUS database since 2019 (https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21100939572?origin=resultslist). Currently, we adopt EM manuscript submission system powered by Elsevier and Aries (https://www.editorialmanager.com/asep/default.aspx), the same platform with high standard journal worldwide and our turnaround time for reviewing process is less than 1 month in average. During 2020, we published 40 high quality articles from 263 submissions (rejection rate at 85%). Our SCOPUS citescores are growing to 0.5 in 2020 and the number of citation/article during 2019-2020 is 0.7 (updated 20 Jan 2021). With this progress, ASEP aims to maintain high standard of peer-review process to make sure the integrity and reliability of publishing. We are looking forward to provide service for worldwide authors to publish the research to strengthen our research community and society.

Applied Science and Engineering Progress (ASEP) is currently indexed in SCOPUS database. We would like to invite authors to submit the manuscript to publish in the forms of Review article and Research article with free-of-charge policy. The turnaround time for one round of peer reviewing process is less than 4 weeks in average. Starting from Vol. 14 in 2021, ASEP will publish 4 issues per year with 14 articles per issue. ASEP has been included in SCOPUS database since 2019 coverage. Since then, we have rising numbers of submitted manuscripts during 2019 (Jan-Dec 2019) and 2020 (Jan-Jun 2020) of 81 and 110 articles, respectively. Among these numbers, we received warm welcome from international authors (49.5% in 2019 and 50% in 2020 of total numbers of submitted manuscripts) we still maintain high standard of peer-review process to make sure the integrity and reliability of publishing. Thus, we have responses back to authors with rejection rate for 55.6% in 2019 and 64.5% in 2020, calculated from total numbers of submitted manuscripts. Collectively, the statistical data of ASEP, continuing from KMUTNB: IJAST (previous journal name), we have published manuscripts with authors from 29 countries and citation from 55 countries. We are looking for further supports from readers, authors and reviewers to ASEP to strengthen our research community and society.

Regarding to the the worldwide trend of readers, the electronic version of published articles has been become the major preference. Applied Science and Engineering Progress’s publisher comes to the conclusive policy to reduce the use of paper to become environmental friendly journal. Therefore, starting from vol 13 in 2020, the hardcopy version of published articles will be printed out upon the request of corresponding authors. We encourage our readers and authors to welcome our policy to reduce the effect of global warming together.

We are pleased to announce that Applied Science and Engineering Progress (ASEP) has been accepted for inclusion in the SCOPUS since August 6, 2019. It is one of the 31st Thai Journals which are recently included in SCOPUS database. ASEP is deeply grateful to the TCI-TRF-SCOPUS Collaboration Project, Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI) Center, and the local board for their suggestions that are especially useful to the journal quality enrichment.
